Soft Matter reviews the package collectively and returns a focused set of findings for the project team to consider.

Why it exists
Traditional QA involves experienced professionals spending significant time working through large quantities of information. Some of that work requires professional judgement; some is repetitive searching and comparison.
Soft Matter is intended to make the second part more systematic, leaving architects to concentrate on the first.
Developed from practice
Soft Matter was founded by a UK-registered architect and developed independently around the realities of architectural project delivery — evolving packages, coordination across project information, repeated issue cycles and professional review under time pressure.
It is designed to reduce the time architects spend on repetitive searching, comparison and information checking, so professional attention can be focused where it matters.

The architect remains responsible for the project and for deciding whether any action is required. Soft Matter supports professional review; it does not certify a package or replace professional judgement.
Project intelligence
Projects develop over time. Information changes, decisions are revised and later packages need to be understood in the context of what came before.
Soft Matter is being developed to support a clearer understanding of that changing project information — helping teams identify what has changed, where information no longer agrees and what may still require attention.
The starting point is package review. The longer-term aim is a clearer, more accountable record of project information throughout design and delivery.

Security & data
Architectural information can be commercially and operationally sensitive. Soft Matter has been designed with controlled handling of project files as part of the service rather than as an afterthought.
Core project-file processing and storage are configured in UK regions, supporting a service designed around UK architectural practice and UK data-protection expectations.
Professional judgement
Soft Matter doesn’t tell you whether a project is good or bad. It tells you where another look may be worthwhile.
Evidence
Soft Matter is designed to measure not only what is surfaced, but what proves useful: confirmed findings, time spent reviewing them, whether they result in a project change and the professional attention the process may have saved.
